Drink drivers, drug drivers who faced Yeppoon court pay $5750 in fines

The following people faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court recently for drink or drug driving offences.
DRINK DRIVING
Traffic conviction recorded
Ned Gavin George Duffy, 26 .072
Duffy blew a reading of .072 after he was intercepted by police on Svendsen Rd, Zilzie, on March 31.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 16 to drink driving.
Solicitor Rebecca Harris tendered references for Duffy, a truck operator, and she said his boss spoke “very highly” of him.
With a previous similar offence in the past five years, Duffy, was fined $950 and disqualified from driving for nine months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Asha Mae McNamara, 35 .086
McNamara blew a reading of .086 after police intercepted her on Yeppoon Rd, Mulara, on February 16.
McNamara pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 9 to drink driving.
With a previous similar offence in the past five years, McNamara was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Ethan Geoffrey Neuss, 26 .119
Neuss blew a reading of .119 after he came to police attention on Hoskyn Dr, Yeppoon, on March 29.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 18 to drink driving.
The court heard that Neuss, a diesel fitter in the mining industry, had one previous similar offence in the past five years.
He was fined $900 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Joshua Lee Ingram, 31 .126
Ingram blew a reading of .126 after police tested him on Conical Rocks Ave, Yeppoon, on April 6.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 18 to drink driving.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Ingram, a boilermaker who owns a welding business, was fined $700 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Shannon Anthony Hudson, 41 .090
Hudson blew a reading of .090 after police intercepted him at Emu Park on March 9.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 18 to drink driving.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Hudson was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Eli Machno, 38 .176
Machno blew a reading of .176 after he came to police attention on Arthur St, Yeppoon, on February 11.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 11 to drink driving.
The court heard that Machno, a father and contract labourer, had no similar offending in the past five years.
He was fined $800 and disqualified from driving for eight months.

Corey James Mathieson, 46 meth
Mathieson was caught riding a motorbike with methamphetamine in his system on Tanby Rd, on February 29.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 11 to drug driving.
With a previous drug-driving offence from 2022, Mathieson was fined $600 and disqualified from diving for three months.

Oliver Edward Mann, 20 cannabis, meth
P-plater Mann was caught driving with both cannabis and methamphetamine in his system on Farnborough Rd, on February 18.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on April 4 to drug driving.
With no prior similar offending, Mann, a roofer, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Kara Sandre Poll, 39 cannabis
Poll was caught driving with cannabis in her system on Rodney St, Taranganba, on February 29.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 16 to drug-driving.
The court heard that after being intercepted, Poll told police that she had smoked medicinal cannabis the previous night.
It was told she had a “limited” traffic history.
Solicitor Laura Mallet said Poll, a single mother, was not employed and she had been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety.
Poll was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.
