Peter Anderson is used to people checking out his trendy new electric scooter, especially when the daylight dims and the LED strips light up under its deck.

He first saw the Dragon GTR V2 on the Gold Coast, but had to join a waitlist.

During Covid, the electric bike stores down south were out of stock for a while.

It cost Mr Anderson a pretty penny at $1,600 but he evidently loves his scooter which he hasn’t named yet.

He carries it folded down “to practically nothing” and weighing in around 20kg on the bus from his Gracemere home to Aldi on Gladstone Rd most mornings.

He then makes the trip to his workplace at Freddy’s Fishing and Outdoors in North Rockhampton, at the legal limit of 25km/h.

“It’s a full-on multi-terrain vehicle with quad shocks and a battery that can last about 80 km,” Mr Anderson said.

“On private property, I can get it up to about 70km/hr but, on the roads, I use the cruise control to make sure I don’t go over the legal limit.”
