A man has been taken to hospital after a vehicle accident in the same area where four people lost their lives on the weekend.

Emergency services responded to a single vehicle rollover on the Capricorn Highway near Comet on Monday, July 21 at 6.42pm.

The man suffered head and back injuries and was taken to Emerald Hospital in a stable condition, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said.

One fire crew attended the crash, which resulted in the car being on its roof, but there were no entrapments, a Queensland Fire Department spokesman said.

The crash occurred one day after four people, including two children, were killed in a vehicle crash in the same area.
