A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman said two of the people were on the motorbike.

She said a man in his 30s was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious condition with significant facial, leg and arm injuries, as well as pelvic injuries.

As of Wednesday morning, he had been transferred to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remained in a critical condition.

Metro North Hospital and Health Service spokesperson said the motorbike rider’s condition remained critical on Thursday morning.

A young boy was also taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition with neck and chest pain and was discharged.

The car driver was uninjured.

McLaughlin St was closed for a number of hours while the Forensic Crash Unit began their investigations, with traffic being diverted through the Old Capricorn Highway.

The road reopened about 4.20pm Tuesday afternoon.

The crash comes a day after a woman was injured on the same road after an e-scooter incident, where initial reports indicated another vehicle was involved.

Residents and business owners in the area have raised concerns about the stretch of road along McLaughlin Street which has a rise after the Lawrie Street, Old Capricorn Highway intersection, causing visibility issues for those trying to cross the road from northbound traffic and into Gracemere Shoppingworld.

Principal of Discover Real Estate John Neumann, whose office is on McLaughlin St, was one of the first on scene at the horror collision.

Mr Neumann said he and his staff heard the sound of vehicles screeching and braking multiple times daily along the stretch of road.

“The visibility isn’t great but if you’re local you learn it,” he said.

“There probably doesn’t need to be a turn or exit to the shopping centre if you have the hill there, the turn in and turn out are just as dangerous as each other.

“I personally don’t use that road to turn in or out.”

Christy Atta-Singh writing on Facebook that the hill on the stretch of road scares her.

“That hill scares the crap out of me. In my car, unless a car is 4WD, I can’t see anything coming over it,” she said.

Pam Parker replied and said the rise was “terrible”.

“You would have thought that when the upgrade the intersection they might have done something there as well but not in the budget clearly,” she said.
