Williams had been removed from a plane before departure by security officers due to creating a disturbance and was continuing to cause a scene.

When police arrived, Williams was screaming at security officers.

When Williams spotted police, he walked away from them and as police tried to talk to him, Williams screamed at them to shoot him.

Mr Fox said Williams screamed “shoot me, just f---ing shoot me” and swore at police.

Police continued to try to communicate with Williams as he continued swearing.

Mr Fox said Williams at one point told police he had a knife, while his hand was in his pocket, and he was going to stab himself.

“He moved towards police, taking up a boxing stance,” he said.

“He looked as if he was about to carry out physical violence and he had already made threats.”

Police presented tasers and Williams became partially compliant before being arrested and taken to the watch house where he returned a blood-alcohol content reading of .114.

The court heard Williams, who works full-time as an electrician in Gladstone but lives in Rockhampton, had issues with alcohol abuse and had sessions with Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Services every three months.

The father of two had no like offences on his criminal record.

He was placed on probation for 10 months and ordered to complete 40 hours of community service.
