Firefighters were called to reports of a structure fire in South Rockhampton on Monday afternoon.
One fire crew arrived at a house on Grant Street, Allenstown about 3.40pm, but there was no sign of fire.
Taking up the occupants, firefighters learned of a small fire in the kitchen.
With the fire extinguished, they ventilated the property, which a QFES spokesman said was “smoke-logged”, and checked the air quality.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
