Bushfire season has well and truly arrived in Central Queensland, with multiple fire crews battling another blaze on the weekend.
Fire crews returned to the fire ground about 6pm Sunday evening to do a final check of a contained fire between Klaproth and Laurel Bank Roads at Alton Downs, west of Rockhampton.
Fire crews rushed to battle the blaze just before midday on Sunday, and about 20 crews were fighting it at its peak.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said it was under control and burning within containment lines by 2.30pm on Sunday.
She said crews also had aerial support from a waterbombing aircraft.
Queensland Ambulance Service treated one firefighter for smoke inhalation.
