Emergency crews called to crash on Leichhardt Hwy at Woolein

A male driver was flown to Rockhampton Hospital after a single-vehicle rollover on the Leichhardt Highway. UPDATES.

One person has been flown to hospital with a head injury following a crash south west of Rockhampton on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle rollover about 9am on the Leichhardt Hwy, north of Woolein, 26kms from Banana.

Initial reports suggested the vehicle, carrying three people, exited the highway and rolled.

Paramedics treated three people on scene and the RACQ CapRescue helicopter was also tasked to the incident.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his late 50s, suffered suspected spinal and head injuries.

He was flown to Rockhampton Hospital for follow-up treatment in a serious but stable condition.

Another person, a male, was taken to Biloela Hospital by road in a stable condition.

The third person declined transport to hospital.

Two fire crews attended the incident and no one was trapped inside the vehicle.

The highway was closed for a short time and has since reopened.
