A woman who was trapped in her vehicle following a rollover on the Capricorn Highway in Central Queensland on Sunday has been airlifted to Brisbane for treatment.

The woman, who was driving, was transferred from Rockhampton Hospital to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, following the crash at Dingo about 9.34am.

She is now in a stable condition, according to a Metro North Hospital and Health Service spokesperson.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the female driver was trapped in the vehicle and two children were passengers.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the car had gone off the road.

The police spokesman said traffic control was put in place with a single-lane of traffic diverted around the scene.

He said the road was reopened to all traffic about noon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said firefighters helped free the woman.

He said she suffered leg and body injuries and she was taken by ambulance to Rockhampton Hospital in a “relatively stable” condition.

He said the two children sustained minor injuries and they were left in the care of family members.
