It’s official - Rockynats 04 has broken records across the board.

More than 57,000 people flocked to Queensland’s largest car and bike festival held in Rockhampton from March 29 to 31.

Since its inception in 2021, the event has been held over the Easter long weekend but next year will be held during the Easter holidays from Friday, April 4, to Sunday, April 6.

It has grown every year, with the bumper program catering for motor enthusiasts from across the region and across the country.

This year, 20,800 (tickets) were sold, 2200 of them in the space of four hours.

A record number of entrants took part, with 1563 cars and 77 bikes, up 15 percent on last year.

There was also an eight percent increase in retail and food vendors across the event.

Summernats’ co-owner Andy Lopez said revheads had the chance to compete in and watch competitions ranging from the Burnout Pro Series to drag racing, each of which also broke records.

“We had 105 cars enter the burnout competition, collectively completing 315 burnouts, resulting in 630 tyres destroyed,” he said.

Spectators saw more than 400 cars take part in more than 1200 drag passes in this year’s street drags, making it the biggest drag racing event in the country.

Rockhampton Region Mayor said 2024 had set the benchmark for future events, cementing Rockynats and the region as the place to be for the motorsports-loving community.Thousands of people lined the streets and packed out precincts for Rare Spares Rockynats 04 on Easter weekend.

As well as the high-octane action, the program included the Rockabilly-Nats pin-up competition, the ever-popular Mulletfest and a tattoo competition.
