Two-year-old Rockhampton boy Izaya Jasperson has been remembered by family as a “happy kid” with a “smile that would light up a room”.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created by his family to help with the cost of Izaya’s funeral, after his life and two others were tragically cut short in a horrifying crash at Clarke Creek, between Rockhampton and Mackay, on November 11.

Kira Jasperson, 18, was moving with her son Izaya and partner Javarn Doyle, 20, from Rockhampton to Nebo, travelling on Marlborough Sarina Road, when their car left the road near Grave Gully Bridge and collided with a culvert about 10.15pm.

Tragically, Izaya and a 59-year-old Park Avenue woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old Rockhampton man also tragically died from his injuries on the way to the hospital.

It is alleged Izaya’s father, Mr Doyle, was the driver of the vehicle. He suffered minor injuries.

Ms Jasperson was transported to Rockhampton Hospital with serious head, facial and pelvic injuries, where she remained on Thursday in a stable condition.

Ms Jasperson’s aunt Chantelle Fulton said Izaya was the first grandchild on her Mum and Dad’s side of the family.

“He was a bright little boy,” Ms Fulton said.

“He loved being outside and loved animals.

“Whenever we spent time with them he was always happy.

“He had one of those smiles that would light up a room.”

She said Ms Jasperson and her partner were moving from Rockhampton to Nebo on the night of the tragic crash.

“They got a place in my Mum’s house, they were relocating to Nebo to live with mum,” she said.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was created by Ms Fulton to help the family with the cost of Izaya’s funeral.

“I created the GoFundMe page for Izaya’s funeral because his Mum is still in hospital and she will be there for quite a long time and my Mum is a wreck,” she said.

“Kira has a broken pelvis, half of her face is shattered and they are talking about sending her down to Brisbane to have facial surgery.

“All funds that have been donated to the GoFundMe page for Izaya will go directly to a funeral home in Mackay.

“Anything leftover will go towards supporting Kira when she is home.”

She said the family was reaching out to the community for support to lay Izaya to rest.

“Kira was a young mum and that was her first baby,” she said.

“We just ask for people’s support to help put Izaya to rest.”

Ms Fulton also wished to pay her respects to the families of the other two victims who lost their lives in the crash.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said on Thursday that investigations into the crash were ongoing.

No charges have been laid in relation to the crash.
