A woman who has worked at a local school three decades stormed into a Central Queensland office and assaulted a woman who was working there.

Christine Ann Lucht, 57, pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on August 11 to unlawful assault.

The court heard that about 10.40am on May 30, Lucht went to her sister’s residence at Kianga, south of Moura.

That property consisted of a house and it also had an office-like shed at the rear which was used for a business managed by Lucht’s sister’s ex-husband.

The victim was a woman who was in a de-facto relationship with the ex-husband.

She was inside the shed working at a computer when Lucht entered.

Lucht was verbally abusive towards the victim and told her that she could not be at her sister’s property.

Lucht grabbed the victim by the arm and attempted to pull her up from her seat.

The victim then used her mobile phone to start filming Lucht and Lucht tried to grab the phone.

Lucht moved away from the victim but continued to abuse her and told her that she “had f---ed up her sister’s life by being with her sister’s ex-husband”.

Lucht then left the shed.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

In court, Lucht’s solicitor tendered character references for Lucht.

The solicitor said Lucht had worked at Moura State School for the past 30 years, had no history of violence, and this incident was totally out of character for her.

“She’s a well-known member of the community,” the solicitor said.

“She instructs she’s on various football and soccer committees, she runs NAIDOC for the school each year.

“The circumstances of this offence - her sister had been going through a marriage breakdown and nasty property settlement which had gone on for over a year.

“The victim is the, well the mistress, of the husband... she’s about two decades younger than my client’s sister.”

Magistrate Jason Schubert said there was no excuse for Lucht’s behaviour although he noted that it was “not the most serious assault”.

He fined Lucht $300 and did not record a conviction.
