Central Queensland Covid numbers: 13 people in Rockhampton Hospital, 200 new cases

More than a dozen people are in Rockhampton Hospital recovering from Covid-19 as the region records another 200 fresh cases.

There have been 200 new Covid-19 cases reported in Central Queensland and the Central West in the past 24 hours but thankfully, no further deaths.

It comes after the region recorded its first deaths of the pandemic at the weekend, when two people died. 

A person aged in their 60s had comorbidities, meaning one or more medical conditions, and was fully vaccinated.

The second person was aged in their 70s with comorbidities and was not vaccinated.

There were 127 positive cases confirmed from PCR tests in Central Queensland on January 31, CQHealth confirmed.

Of these, 68 are from Rockhampton, nine from Gladstone, 33 from Livingstone, 16 from the Central Highlands and one from elsewhere.

There have been 68 self-reported RAT positives.

As of 8am today, there were 13 Covid patients in Rockhampton Hospital in stable conditions.

Seven new Covid cases were reported in the Central West.

This leaves 62 active cases, including three in Alpha, one in Aramac, four in Barcaldine, two in Blackall, 17 in Longreach, five in Tambo, three in Windorah and 27 in Winton.
