Blaxland Court, Glen Eden neighbours of Gladstone woman Lee-Ann Rae Forrest and sons Alex William Forrest and Cameron Paul Forrest speak about family

Neighbours have provided an insight into the everyday lives of a Gladstone mother and her two sons – one of whom she is accused of murdering – as court documents allege she transitioned in and out of what appeared to be a split personality while speaking with police.

Neighbours have provided an insight into the everyday lives of mother Lee-Ann Rae Forrest and her two sons, as police continue to comb their Gladstone home for evidence after an alleged murder at the site over the Easter long weekend.

Ms Forrest, 50, along with son Alex William Forrest, 20, have been charged with the murder of Cameron Paul Forrest, 24, who was found dead inside his Blaxland Court, Glen Eden home on April 17.

An affidavit prepared by police in Mr Forrest’s court proceedings in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday states that Cameron had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Police located Cameron deceased, lying on a bed in the rear bedroom of the home.

According to the court documents he had “significant lacerations to both wrists, his throat and multiple stab-like wounds to his chest”.

The document states police allege the injuries to Cameron were inflicted while he was attempting to defend himself and the scene and the means of death could only be described as ‘horrific’.

The document states police allege that while being treated in hospital, Ms Forrest allegedly told police “she channelled the Archangel Michael and that the Archangel Michael stabbed Cameron”.

Police also allege Ms Forrest “was observed to transition in and out of what appeared to be a split personality, in which she would adopt a much deeper voice whenever she spoke as Michael”, the court documents state.

The document states Mr Forrest took medication daily and that he displayed sound mind and cognisant ability while speaking with investigators.

Police remain on scene at the Glen Eden home more than three days after the alleged murder, with neighbours providing an insight into the everyday lives categorised by loud arguments between Ms Forrest and her two sons – who lived in the home for at least four years.

Neighbours say in recent months they would consistently see Ms Forrest mowing the lawn in her pyjamas at “strange hours of the day” and barely saw her sons outside of the house unless they would collect the bins.

It is understood the boys were involved in gaming, and spent lots of time inside, with neighbours reporting loud noises coming from computers and TVs.

At least two neighbours believed one of the sons had a fear of the sun or a medical condition and was seen outside in a beekeepers suit so his skin would not be exposed to the sun.

They also say that very few people from the neighbourhood spoke to Ms Forrest, with the mother not often returning a greeting, “barely holding eye contact”, and often seen wearing ear muffs on her head when exiting the house.

Neighbours heard loud noises from the property about 11pm Saturday.

It can be revealed that Ms Forrest worked as a phlebotomist for QML for more than five years up until recently and worked at the Gladstone Hospital for nine months in 2016.

Neighbours say Ms Forrest became increasingly recluse after a relationship she had said was leading to a potential wedding date was “called off”.

The deceased son, Cameron, had received consistent visits from a Gladstone NDIS case worker up until November 2020 for his ASD and OCD.

Alex Forrest had his matter mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning, April 20, where he did not appear in person and his lawyer ordered a brief of evidence.

Mr Forrest did not make a bail application and his matters were adjourned until June 8.

It is understood Ms Forrest has declined to provide a statement as yet.

Her matter was mentioned in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 20, where a brief of evidence was ordered and the matter was adjourned until June 14.

She did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
