Queensland forward Joe Ofahengaue has welcomed a baby boy.
Sharing the news on social media on Wednesday, the NRL star said his fiance Sofi Leota had given birth to their second child early Saturday morning.
The couple named him Ali Dean Junior Ofahengaue.
“Love you son, welcome to this crazy world! @sofileota thank you for another healthy child my love, can’t wait for the next,” Ofahengaue, 26, wrote alongside a series of photos of their newborn.
Ali was born weighing 8.4 pounds. He is a brother to the couple’s daughter Mila Louise, who turned one in May.
She was described as the couple’s “miracle” baby when she was conceived a year after Leota finished chemotherapy treatment, having received the shock breast cancer diagnosis at 23 before undergoing a mastectomy and radiation.
Leota fell pregnant again early this year as Ofahengaue, a Queensland Maroons representative, made the switch from the Brisbane Broncos to the West Tigers.
“Our little man joined us earthside 25/09/21 at 6:42am. The most perfect addition to our family my Son. We love you so much,” Leota wrote to social media on Wednesday,
Childhood sweethearts from Ipswich, the couple recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary.
