NEW details of the massive $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf project have been revealed, as the project’s consortium reassures the public it’s progress is on track.
Construction giant Multiplex has been awarded contract to deliver 12 football fields of public space across the integrated resort, expected to open in 2022.

Around 300 trees and 20,000 plants will be included in the landscaping project, which will include new waterfront parkland and fit out of new retail, event and recreation spaces within the resort.
Destination Brisbane Consortium project director Simon Crooks said the new contract showed that the transformative CBD project was on schedule, despite COVID-19’s vast global impact.
“It’s pretty exactly where we thought we would be,” Mr Crooks said.
State Development and Tourism Minister Kate Jones said the new contract would boost Queensland’s economy right as it was needed.
“If you’re a landscaper, an arborist or a labourer there could be a great opportunity to work on one of the biggest infrastructure projects Queensland has ever seen,” Ms Jones said.
“That’s what Queen’s Wharf is delivering – contracts and jobs for local businesses and local workers.”
Construction is already underway on the core structure of Queen’s Wharf, and contracts for a pedestrian bridge spanning the Brisbane River and Riverside Expressway to South Bank was awarded last year.
