But police confirmed repeatedly that Jacob was real and 7ft tall.
“Ha – can’t wait to see reactions when he folds out of the patrol car,’’ Gregory Arthur posted.
Others suggested he might need a bigger patrol car than normal.
Joy Waters had a novel fundraising suggestion.
“Please don’t take this wrong … are you going to sell tickets to his first call out? I want to see their faces as he straightens up, look at it as fundraising towards covering his uniform and shoes, Bless you all and stay safe!”
Brett McCarthy said he thought “Rocky being Rocky, someone will still think they can take on “Hightower”.
High Tower was the giant cop in the Police Academy movies series, played by former Super Bowl winner Bubba Smith, who died in 2011.
