Qld radio shows in the mix for national Australian Commercial Radio Awards
A favourite Brisbane breakfast radio show is among the local programs nominated for a coveted Australian Commercial Radio Award, with the full list of finalists unveiled on Wednesday

Top-rating 4KQ breakfast show Laurel, Gary and Mark is among the Queensland programs nominated for a coveted national radio award.
The Brisbane radio program, hosted by Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine, is a finalist for the top gong of best on-air team in the metro AM category at the 32nd annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs).
The show – which tied in breakfast with Nova 106.9 and 97.3FM in the latest Brisbane radio survey – will compete against FIVEaa Breakfast in Adelaide, The Continuous Call Team in Sydney and 3AW Breakfast in Melbourne.

Three regional Queensland shows are nominated for best provincial on-air team, including Sea FM Maroochydore’s BarRat & Heidi and Gold Coast Hot Tomato programs Galey, Emily Jade & Christo and Moyra & Baggs.
Meanwhile Rural Queensland Today’s Ben Dobbin is a finalist for best networked program, country, while Hit Queensland’s Cliffo & Gabi is up for provincial networked program.
Elliot Loveyjoy from Triple M Cairns is nominated for provincial entertainment presenter and former AFL star Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt is up provincial sports presenter for his role on Triple M Gold Coast.

Queensland programs missed out in the sought-after best on-air team metro FM category, which will be contested by B105’s Carrie & Tommy, Nova drive show Kate, Tim & Joel, Sydney programs Jonesy & Amanda and The Kyle & Jackie O Show, and Melbourne’s The Christian O’Connell Show.
Ben Fordham, John Stanley, Neil Mitchell and Dee Dee Dunleavy will compete for best talk presenter in the metro category.
The awards take into account two years of work after Commercial Radio Australia was forced to cancel the 2020 event due to Covid and reschedule the 2021 event to 2022.
Winners will be named at the rescheduled ACRA gala ceremony, to be held in Sydney on February 13.
