Queensland LNP’s state director Lincoln Folo has been appointed as the new federal director of the Nationals.
In an email to members, LNP president Lawrence Springborg said to be offered the position was a “rare opportunity and a privilege”.
“We are all committed to ensuring that there is a smooth and thorough transition and Lincoln will continue to assist in our preparations for the 2024 state election,” he wrote.
Mr Folo was permanently appointed as state director earlier this year after Tony Eyres resigned last year.
“Since taking on the state director role in October 2021, Lincoln has rebuilt the team and led a significant boost in morale at the Secretariat,” Mr Springborg wrote.
“We have expanded both the finance and membership teams and are implementing IT systems upgrades and developing a new, sustainable fundraising platform for the LNP built around regular low dollar giving.”
Mr Springborg wrote that the efforts of Mr Folo and his team at the last federal election “helped deliver the Coalition’s best results in the country once again and it’s no accident that the Nationals have sought out his experience.”
Mr Folo will begin in the new role on December 5.
