The LNP has permanently appointed Lincoln Folo as the party’s state director just months out from the federal election.
Mr Folo has been acting in the role since October last year when Tony Eyres resigned after just months in the job.
The party executive on Monday made the appointment, with President Lawrence Springborg telling members it came after an extensive and exhaustive recruitment process.
“As you know, Lincoln has been Acting State Director since October and this appointment consolidates his contribution to campaigning, leadership and management of our organisation,” he wrote in a letter to members.
“Lincoln’s campaign experience is widely recognised throughout Australia and as the party members know Queensland will play a vital role in the upcoming Federal Election.”
Mr Folo was the party’s campaign director prior to this role.
At the time of Mr Eyres’ resignation, Mr Springborg said the state director role would shift “to one of implementation”.
