Cynthia Hardy confirms tilt at LNP presidency
Acting LNP president Cynthia Hardy has confirmed she will go head-to-head with the party’s founding father for the position.

Cynthia Hardy will run for LNP president at the party’s convention next weekend.
The confirmation the acting president has officially thrown her hat in the ring comes after the party refused to say whether she would earlier this year.
She joins former opposition leader and LNP founding father Lawrence Springborg and Timothy Wright in contesting the role.
As revealed by The Courier-Mail, former Brisbane city councillor Amanda Cooper will run for vice-president, along with Wayne Black who ran in the federal Brisbane seat of Ryan in 2010.
Chris Green, who ran in Ipswich West at last year’s state election, will also run for vice-president, while Mr Wright has also put his name forward.
Natalie Marr, who ran in Thuringowa at the 2020 election, has thrown her hat in the ring for regional vice-president, along with former Banana Shire Mayor Ron Carige and Blake Repine.
LNP leader David Crisafulli’s plans for “monumental” reform, sparked by ongoing internal friction, will be front and centre when the three-day convention kicks off next Friday.
