It came as a welcome surprise to Brisbane fans when Matt Damon emerged browsing the showbag pavilion at the Ekka on Tuesday.
But the Hollywood star also enjoyed some greater luxuries during his short trip to the city.
Locals reported seeing Damon arrive via helicopter, flying in from Byron Bay on Tuesday morning and landing at Doomben Racecourse.
He was then picked up in a car and chauffeured from the venue, which is the only Brisbane location you can easily land a helicopter for commercial purposes.
After attending the Ekka that afternoon, Damon was spotted enjoyed breakfast at up-market Fortitude Valley venue The Calile Hotel on Wednesday morning.
It’s a familiar spot for the actor, who attended a charity luncheon there in May last year – after a quick beer at a local pub – and also dined at the venue’s top class restaurants, Hellenika and SK Steak & Oyster.
Damon returned to Byron Bay later on Wednesday.
A frequent visitor to the region, he has been snapped enjoying quality time with close friends the Hemsworth family.
