Police investigate fatal crash in Brisbane’s west

An Ascot man has died at the scene of a crash after the car he was driving smashed into a barrier on a motorway off-ramp in Brisbane’s west.

Queensland Police are investigating a fatal single-car accident that occurred just after noon on Monday after a vehicle crashed into a barrier.

A 37-year-old Ascot man, the driver and sole occupant of a silver Audi A5, was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

Initial investigations indicate that shortly before 1pm the car was being driven eastbound along the Ipswich Motorway off-ramp on to the Centenary Highway when it crashed into the barrier.

The Forensic Crash Unit are now investigation the circumstances that led to the fatal traffic crash.

Police are urging anyone with relevant dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the crash to come forward.
