Paramedics rush three teens to Mackay, Proserpine hospital after car crash

Police are investigating the cause of a crash which left three teenagers with injuries.

Three teenagers have suffered injuries after their car crashed into a tree near the small town of Yalboroo north of Mackay.

The crash occurred sometime between 5.30pm and 6.15pm on Cathu Oconnell River Road on Saturday.

An 18-year-old male was driving the Nissan Navara with two 17-year-old passengers, a female and male.

Queensland Ambulance personnel rushed to the scene about 6.31pm.

The driver was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition with head injuries.

The female passenger was taken to Proserpine Hospital in a stable condition with back and neck injuries.

The male passenger was taken to Proserpine Hospital with only minor injuries.

A police spokeswoman said the QPS was still investigating the cause of the crash.
