Marlborough Bruce Highway crash shuts road to traffic

A three-vehicle crash involving a truck has shut down the Bruce Highway between Mackay and Rockhampton.

A three-vehicle crash involving a truck and two cars has shut down the Bruce Highway north of Marlborough.

The crash took place about 5km from the small township located between Rockhampton and Mackay.

A Queensland Ambulance Service crew received a call-out to the job at 11.52am.

A QAS spokeswoman said the crew was assessing five patients on scene.

It is understood the patients are in a stable condition with no major injuries.

The police are on scene and a fire crew is also racing to the site.

Nearby grassfires have also reduced visibility in the area.

The police are urging motorists to drive to conditions on the highway.
