KIN Kin's Isaac Schmidt, along with Brisbane boys Miller Rowe and Logan Ullrich, have been selected to represent Australia at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Prague, Czech Republic in August this year.
They are looking for world domination in the junior coxed four.
Schmidt has been selected as the Australian Junior coxswain after making local sporting history by winning three consecutive First VIII Head of the River and the 2015 VIII national title and multiple other titles for Nudgee College.
The other four members of the crew are Miller and Logan, both from Brisbane Grammar, who recently won gold at the Australian Rowing Championships in Sydney to become National Gold Medal Champions, and two boys from Western Australia.
Their rigorous training program requires Isaac to drive to Brisbane two to three days a week at 4am to train on the Brisbane River and Wyaralong near Beaudesert, before heading back to work at a local nursery at Doonan.
The boys have recently trained at the West Australian Institute of Sport, before travelling to further training camps in Perth, Sydney, Canberra and then Milan in the lead-up to the world competition.
Isaac has always had an affinity with the water as a previous member of Noosa Surf Life Saving Club and used to attend Good Shepherd Lutheran College in Noosaville before heading to Nudgee.
He commenced coxing at Nudgee College at the age of 14 where he completed his schooling as college vice-captain last year.
Rowing has led him to an enrolment to study overseas from September.
Isaac's parents are working hard to fundraise for the trip to world championship.
A GoFundMe page has been established called Juniors Rowing For Australia, and a cocktail evening in Brisbane is being organised for June 16.
Donations are greatly appreciated to assist in the travel and training costs for the boys to achieve their dream of bringing home gold for Australia.
