Priscila Lucia Gentili Sturgeon blew a frightening reading when she was spotted driving on the wrong side of a Noosa road

A 26-year-old could have killed someone when she drunkenly drove on the wrong side of a Noosa road while more than four times over the legal limit, a court has heard.

Police call drink drivers "selfish pricks"

A Noosa magistrate has told a 26-year-old woman she could have killed someone when she drunkenly drove on the wrong side of a Noosa road while more than four times over the legal limit.

Priscila Lucia Gentili Sturgeon blew an alcohol reading of 0.209 per cent when police pulled her over on Noosa Parade on September 14.

Police prosecutor Pedau Grabbe said police spotted Sturgeon swerving from side to side while driving on the wrong side of the road at 12.18am.

Constable Grabbe said the Argentinian told police she had one pint of beer between 11.30pm and midnight.

Magistrate Graham Hillan said driving with the extremely high reading was “frightening”.

“It’s very lucky police came and found you before a disaster struck because anybody that is so drunk that they are driving down the wrong side of a divided road and doesn’t realise it is an accident waiting to happen,” he said.

“You could have killed someone.”

Noosa Magistrates Court heard Sturgeon had no criminal history and had entered a very early plea of guilty to one count of driving under the influence.

The hospitality worker was fined $1200 and disqualified from driving for one year.
