Appearing in Noosa Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Mr Wright applied to change his bail conditions to reduce his daily reporting via his solicitor Anna Smith.
Ms Smith said Mr Wright had been compliant with police and had not failed to appear in court.
Bail variations were “strongly” opposed by police who said he was at risk of leaving the area.
Police prosecutor Alison Johnstone said investigations showed Mr Wright had been travelling outside of the area and they were concerned he would continue to do so.
“It was a thorough investigation and the evidence is increasing in strength and may increase even further,” Sergeant Johnstone said.
Magistrate Hadyn Stjernqvist varied Mr Wright’s bail conditions to Monday to Friday reporting instead of daily.
Mr Wright is due back in court on March 29, 2022.
