IT’S the nose job that won’t break the bank and has no down time – the only catch is, you’ll have to get it done yearly.

A new trend in cosmetic procedures is gaining momentum in Queensland, with people opting for non-surgical nose jobs.

Beauty clinics are using dermal fillers and Botox injections to “build up the nose” for about half the price of surgery.

Capalaba Injex Clinic manager, Kate Taylor, said while surgical nose jobs cost about $1500, the liquid version only costs about $800.

“It’s different from a regular nose job, the procedure requires a yearly top-up, using dermal filler to basically build up the nose,” Ms Taylor said.

“With regular rhino, they reshape the nostril and remove or add cartilage, it’s a surgical procedure and it takes about 12 months for the final result to fully show, this is a more instant fix”.

Ms Taylor said they’ve been offering the procedures for a while, but recently have seen an increased interest, with about two clients a week booking the procedure.

“We’ve done liquid rhinoplasty for ages, I’d say about two clients a week would book in for it, which is quite a lot considering you only need a follow-up once a year,” Ms Taylor said.

Logan resident Hayley Robertson, 34, decided to give it a go after being bullied as a child and fearing regular rhinoplasty surgery.

“I used to get teased a lot when I was younger; kids being kids, teenagers being teenagers and I didn’t realise how much I hated my side profile was until I got a picture taken when I was about 12,” she said.

“I saw on television how they did the regular surgery with a chisel and hammer and it turned me off it so much then about a year ago a friend of mine told me you can get it done with fillers so I looked into it”.

Ms Robertson said after researching the procedure, she booked herself in for a consultation and ended up achieving a “better” nose.

She said the procedure made her feel better and found the lack of pain “surprising”.

“I know with filers the more you do it the longer it lasts but I absolutely feel better about my appearance now,” Ms Robertson said.

“It didn’t hurt at all, there was a bit of a sting, but it was so-so (sic) minimal, which was surprising

“I think it’s personal preference, but you really get your bang for your buck”.
