A MAN who watched an out-of-control stock car hurl towards his family at a monster truck show in Brisbane’s south last night says his loved ones were lucky to escape with minor injuries.

Cleveland man Mark Bluck, his daughters Hannah and Lilly, his son Thomas, and Mark’s partner Kelly Harris had settled in for an evening of action at the Ultimate Monster Show at Mt Gravatt when the car attempted a jump and lost control.

The rust-coloured sedan ploughed into the makeshift barrier at the event in front of horrified onlookers about 30 minutes into the show.

Incredibly, Lilly, aged 10, only suffered bruising to her ankle, despite early fears she may have broken it.

Kelly suffered minor scratches and bruises, while Mark, Lilly’s little sister Hannah and younger brother Thomas were uninjured.

“Nothing is broken but very swollen and bruised,” Mark wrote on Facebook.

“Thank God, but (Lilly is) a very sore and lucky girl.”

Dozens of people — some of whom were spectators at the event in Brisbane’s south as well — have written on Mark’s Facebook page expressing their shock and concern.

One man posted footage of the incident from where he was sitting.

It depicted the rust-coloured sedan attempt to jump into the air using a ramp before it veers off into the barricade at a low speed.

A child can be heard screaming as onlookers gasp and run to the aid of those involved.

On their way to hospital, Mark took to Facebook to tell his loved ones what had happened.

“A stock car came through the fence and ran the 2 girls over. Lilly may have a broken ankle and hannah has grazed a grazed face and Kelly Harris has a few cuts and bruises on her legs,” he wrote.

Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the incident.
