A YOUNG man has died after being struck by a vehicle as he walked along a road, west of Brisbane.

A young man was transported to hospital after being hit by a vehicle at Tara but was later pronounced dead.

Third teen still on the run after fatal Stafford crash

The 25-year-old man was walking along Tara Kogan Rd at Tara, west of Toowoomba, about 7pm on Friday, when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was rushed to Tara Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead.

In a statement, police said the driver of the vehicle was not physically injured during the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
