Man fights for life after falling down stairs, another man injured in park brawl

A man is in a critical condition after falling down a flight of stairs at a Gold Coast hotel.

A man is fighting for life after he fell down a flight of stairs on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services rushed to Surfers Paradise to reports a man was badly injured after falling down stairs in the late afternoon.

The fall happened about 6:05pm at Club Surfers Hotel on the Gold Coast Hwy.

After being treated on the scene he was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The man sustained serious head injuries.

Police have reviewed CCTV footage of the fall and there are believed to be no suspicious circumstances around the fall.

Officers are investigating whether alcohol may have been a factor.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident further south at the Cascade Gardens Park in Broadbeach a group of juveniles were involved in a fight with a man.

The man suffered a cut to his hand during the brawl and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Cascade Gardens is a known refuge for homeless who often sleep in the shelters and gazebos.

Both incidents are under investigation.
