One fighting for life after crash on Brisbane Valley Highway

A person is fighting for life on Wednesday morning after a car caught on fire on a major highway west of Brisbane.

A man is fighting for life after a car caught on fire on a major highway west of Brisbane.

Emergency services responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on Brisbane Valley Highway at Ironbark near Ipswich about 10.10am.

Paramedics assessed two patients, with a man suffering potentially life-threatening injuries.

Another patient was transported in a stable condition to the Ipswich Hospital.

It is understood that a car hit a tree and caught on fire. One person was trapped in one of the vehicles before fire crews were able to free them.

There is no information in how the second vehicle was involved.

The Brisbane Valley Highway is closed to all traffic and motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
