‘LNP proving they are simply not fit to lead’

THE recent attempted coup in the National Party has highlighted a widening chasm in the ranks of the Liberal government around the issue of climate change and basic accountability.

The latest cash splash by the Morrison Government is a $4 million feasibility study into building a new coal-fired power station at Collinsville in Central Queensland.

The government is blatantly ignoring the overwhelming evidence that the project doesn’t stack up economically or environmentally.

It would seem the study is more a political ploy to shore up government relationships with their fractious National Party members.

The power station and the people of Collinsville are just pawns in the government’s political agenda.

Even the former LNP leader Malcolm Turnbull said that plans to build a new coal-fired power station “is nuts” (10/02).

Seemingly ‘nutters’ abound in the LNP and they are proving that they are simply not fit to lead us in a time of climate crisis.

Council election

I AM so over the rubbish about the council election coming up.

Tell the people who is nominating, what you intend to do for the region and stop the name calling.

It is so petty!

It astounds me that so many people are so vile towards those who have been elected by the people.

We chose our current council members and for current and retiring councillors to drag the mayor and others through the dirt is disgusting.

Whether they have lived up to expectation or not, they won their seats by a majority, so move on and stop telling us we need your help to vote this time.
