A man has been injured in a car rollover on the Bruce Highway near Mackay.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 12.15pm after it was reported a 4WD had rolled multiple times on the Bruce Highway at Clairview, injuring a male in his 20s who had reportedly torn all the skin off his lower arm.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said when responders arrived to the scene they found the man with an injury to his forehead and to his elbow in the middle of the road where the car had crashed.

Both lanes of the Bruce Highway have been closed and a police spokeswoman said that delays should be expected.

It is unclear what caused the crash.

The man is expected to be taken to hospital by paramedics.

This incident comes hours after a horror crash in nearby St Lawrence injured four people and shut the Bruce Highway in both directions.

More to come.
