Whitsunday worker on a Gunyarra property was trapped in a cane harvester after clipping powerlines

Reports a man has been rescued after the tractor he was driving became tangled in powerlines on a Whitsunday property.

A man driving a cane harvester was rescued after the tractor became tangled in powerlines.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said reports indicated the tractor had clipped some overhead powerlines at the private property on Gunyarra Rd in Gunyarra south of Proserpine.

Emergency crews and Ergon Energy were called to the scene about 5.10am.

Reports indicate the man was removed from the tractor about 6.30am.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said the man had no obvious injuries.
