Mackay teenagers steal two cars before being arrested in a Bowen field

UPDATE 3.30PM: A group of teens allegedly stole a ute from a man who had stopped to get food in Collinsville before being tracked and arrested more than 80km away.
A police spokesman said the group, travelling in a stolen Hyundai, stole the second vehicle from the Stanley St supermarket about 6am.
The group was later seen less than a kilometre away in Belmore St, filling a jerry can with petrol about 7am.
A police spokeswoman said the group was scene driving on Peter Delemothe Rd heading towards the Bowen River Hotel.
The spokeswoman said two of those involved were seen fleeing across a field near Strathmore Rd about 8.15am where police chased and eventually caught and arrested them.
A third person was also taken into custody.
Police initially believed four males were involved but further investigations have found an 18-year-old male, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were allegedly behind the car stealing saga.
The police spokesman said the three teenagers were in custody and charges were pending.
INITIAL 9.30AM: Four males have been arrested after allegedly leading police on a car chase involving a stolen vehicle near Bowen.
A police spokeswoman said the group was first spotted filling up a jerry can with petrol on Belmore St in Collinsville about 7am.
She said the group was seen again in a vehicle about 7.30am, driving on Peter Delemothe Rd heading towards the Bowen River Hotel.
Initial reports indicate the white Hyundai was stolen.
The spokeswoman said two of the young men were seen fleeing across a field near Strathmore Rd about 8.15am where police chased and eventually caught and arrested them.
Police later found and arrested two other people.
Paramedics were called to the scene to assess one of the males.
