Two-car crash on Nebo Road buckles ute

A man in his 70s is being assessed by paramedics after a crash left a ute buckled beside a KFC drive- through in the state’s north. UPDATES.

A two-car crash on Nebo Road near a KFC drive-through has crushed the front of a ute.

Police, a fire truck, and an ambulance were on scene about 8.55am to assess the damage.

A man in his 70s was assessed by paramedics while the other male driver was unhurt.

The cars were moved to George Street along the Bruce Highway as emergency crews assessed the situation.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the man in his 70s was stable.

He reportedly refused transport to Mackay Base Hospital and was seen giving his statement to police.

The crash follows a five-car pileup that occurred at Rosella on the Bruce Highway about 6.30am.

Morning traffic was blocked in both directions until tow trucks could clear the scene.
