Taylor-Lee Dillon fronts Mackay court on serious drug charges

A Mackay woman has faced court after police allegedly discovered up to 62g of cocaine in her and her partner’s apartment during a raid last year.

A woman is facing serious drug charges after police allegedly uncovered up to 62g of cocaine inside her and her partner’s Mackay CBD unit.

Mackay Tactical Crime Squad officers executed a search warrant at Rivage Apartments on River St about 2pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, where it is alleged they found several firearms, including three rifles, two handguns, a homemade firearm, a taser and several rounds of ammunition.

Police also seized 62g of cocaine, as well as marijuana, cash and drug utensils.

Police allege Alwyn Leslie Bright and Taylor-Lee Amber Dillon were intending to sell the drugs, including cocaine and marijuana, before they were arrested as part of a six-month police operation.

Ms Dillon, who was 19 at the time of the alleged offence, appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 18 on one count each of possessing schedule one dangerous drugs of or exceeding schedule three quantity but less than schedule four, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of crime as defined in part one and possessing an electric scale.

Both Mr Bright and and Ms Dillon were initially each charged with six counts of unlawful possession of weapons, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in commission of a crime, possessing utensils, receiving tainted property firearm/ammunition, and authority required to possess explosives.

Nine of Ms Dillon’s charges, including all weapons and producing dangerous drugs charges, have been dropped.

Mr Bright was further charged with assaulting a watch-house officer.

Ms Dillon, who has not entered a plea, will appear for a committal mention on February 18 next year.

Mr Bright is due to appear on February 6 for further mention.
