Ignatius Park has continued their dominance in the middle of the field, charging through Mackay State High. WATCH the replays of the clashes.

IGNATIUS Park College pushed through the absence of co-captain Jamal Shibasaki to post the first win of its Aaron Payne Cup campaign over Mackay SHS 46-6.

Star props Jamaine Stanley and Henry Teutau combined well with replacement lock Jack Petit to keep Iggy Park’s pack rolling to a win away from home.

Stanley especially shone in the second half with a barnstorming physical performance capped off with a decisive role in the game’s best try.

Stanley breached the defensive line in a 46th minute charge and offloaded for a flying halfback Matthew Hunter, who turned the final pass inside for interchange hooker Jack Wood to score.

Ignatius Park could have added more to their scoresheet if not for multiple spills of the ball, particularly in the first half, that held their lead to 22-0 at the break.

A dominant Ignatius Park made Mackay State High pay for any slight mistake in a 42-0 drubbing in the Cowboys Challenge.

Ignatius Park made up for their opening round defeat at the hands of local rivals Kirwan State High in emphatic fashion, running in seven tries to zip on the road.

Mackay State High finished the match with 11 players on the field after two were sent to the sin bin for dissent late in the clash.

For the second-straight week, Ignatius Park was led by electrifying dummy-half Kyhnaan Kennedy, who gave the side plenty of go forward out of the ruck and looked threatening with every run.

The action will kick off from the Mackay Rugby League Fields at 10am for the Cowboys Challenge followed by the Payne Cup at 11am.
