A stunning all-round showing, tidy five-wicket hauls and unbeaten centuries headlined a bumper weekend of Mackay cricket. Discover who shone with our five teams of the week.

The conclusion of round six in the first and second grade cups means the respective 40-over competitions are now on pause until mid-February, as the T20 Shootouts take hold.
The first grade ladder is starting to take shape, with Pioneer Valley and Souths holding a slight buffer on four wins apiece, ahead of Brothers and Walkerston who have three. Surprisingly, reigning premiers Magpies have managed just two wins and sit in fifth.
In second grade, Norths is yet to suffer a loss and are shaping as the team to beat, while Pioneer Valley and Pinnacle make up the chasing pack.
In terms of individual showings, Bailey Camilleri was the pick of the weekend’s bowlers, with the quick taking a very tidy 5-13 off seven overs in Pioneer Valley’s victory over Norths.
In second grade, North’s Hakikat Chauhan put in a stunning all-round performance, taking 3-13 off his eight overs before crunching an unbeaten 88 with the bat to steer Norths to a seven-wicket victory over Brothers inside 25 overs.
In the lower grades, Norths’ Ash Murphy and Brenton Edmonds both notched unbeaten centuries. While young Jack Nugent of Magpies’ U14s stole the show in the junior ranks, claiming five scalps.
