Finals time is upon us in the Mackay Basketball senior men’s and women’s competition, so let’s take a look at which players have been lighting up the scoreboard in division 1 this season.
Kobey Sager (Magpies) - 446 points
With multiple 30-plus point outings to his name, Sager has shown the ability to score points in bunches. They’ll be eager to see more out of him in the finals.
Kye Medhurst (Magpies) - 443 points
Sager’s teammate and promising NBL1 prospect, Medhurst has been a consistent double-digit scorer all season long.
Brody McBean (Souths Stingers) - 398 points
McBean has put up 16.5 points per game thanks to both interior and exterior scoring, as he’s made an average of 1.5 threes per contest.
Riley Inkson (Souths Sharks) - 387 points
Inkson has produced in both division 1 and division 2 this season, but most of his damage has been done in the top flight bracket where he has regularly put up 20-plus points.
Lachlan Inkson (Souths Sharks) - 370 points
The other half of the Inkson duo, Lachlan proved to be just as a effective as a scorer as his partner in crime, scoring at 14.5 points per game with more than two made threes on average.
