A key road was blocked in both directions after emergency services rushed to control a fire that broke out in the roof of a shed.
Slade Point Rd is the only way in and out of the suburb but fire trucks, cop cars and an ambulance were blocking the road to prevent a fire from getting out of control.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said two fire crews arrived on scene about 12.30 after an initial call was placed ten minutes earlier.
“They confirmed there was a shed that was well alight and two firefighters got into action working to extinguish it,” she said.
“By about 12.40 the fire was out and they’re at the moment just dampening down some hot spots, ventilating, checking the area.”
The spokeswoman said the main house was unaffected by the blaze.
A Queensland Police spokesman said both police and Queensland Ambulance Services were in attendance.
It is understood one lane has been opened up on Slade Point Road to allow traffic to pass.
More to come.
