Rebel Sport announced it will expand almost fourfold with a new 1,900 sqm Rebel Customer Experience store coming to Canelands in November this year.

Rebel Sport’s range will be much larger than its current Northpoint store with more products including running footwear, fitness equipment, sports equipment, performance and lifestyle apparel.

Works are currently underway by Caneland’s owners, Sentinel Property Group, which will take up the remaining space once Target downsizes.

A Caneland spokesman said no current stores will be replaced.

Sentinel senior leasing executive Tim McDonnell said in securing a new lease at Caneland, Target had reduced its tenancy to 5,150 sqm of space, with Rebel Sport taking up approximately 1,960 sqm for the new store.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of Corasol and welcome this beautiful new shoe boutique to Caneland Central,” Mr Farquhar said.

“Corasol brings a sophisticated new option to the centre and fills an important niche in our fashion offerings.

“It has been some time since this part of our fashion mall has had a stylish refresh, Corasol really stands out with its brightly lit shopfront and interior setting the standard.”

Being the only regional-scale shopping centre in the Mackay Region, Caneland Central attracts 5.56 million annual foot traffic per year, equating to the population of Mackay visiting four times per month, with an average spend of $72 per visit.
