A truck and car have reportedly crashed on a “very remote” road as emergency services rushed to the scene.
The crash occurred about 11am on Elgin Rd in Belyando, about four hours west of Mackay and three hours north of Emerald.
RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman Tegan Philpott said helicopters had been tasked to the incident and were awaiting further information.
She and a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman both confirmed a man with arm injuries had been airlifted from the crash.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the location of the crash was “very remote” and authorities were still making their way out to the crash.
The Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman noted paramedics and other officers were dealing with “very poor reception” in the remote area “so our information is sketchy”.
