Police and paramedics rushed to a boat ramp north of Mackay after a man was reported to be semi-conscious sitting in a ute as the tide was coming in.

Emergency services were first called at 8.06am to Ramp Rd, St Helen’s Beach that an unresponsive man was in a small ute parked at the bottom of the ramp, but not yet in the water.

Police feared it would submerged by 9.30am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to the boat ramp at 8.24am

“We were on scene, accessed the patient, he’s stable and didn’t want to be taken from the scene,” the spokesman said.

At 9.10am, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the incident had been resolved without issue.
