Woman, four toddlers injured in crash at Balnagowan near Mackay
A woman has suffered “life-threatening” injuries, while four young children and a man have also been hurt.

A woman has been seriously injured, and four toddlers and a man were also hurt following a crash near Mackay.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on the Maraju-Yakapari Rd, in the rural area of Balnagowan, about 5.42pm Tuesday following a two-vehicle crash.
Queensland Ambulance Service said a woman in her 20s was trapped and suffering a “potentially life-threatening head injury”.
When paramedics assessed her they learned she had sustained significant chest, leg and abdominal injuries.
She was taken to Mackay Hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.
Four toddlers who received minor injuries in the crash were also taken to hospital.
A male patient, who suffered a hand injury in the crash, was not taken to hospital.
According to Queensland Police, initial investigations indicate that the crash involved a ute and a SUV.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
