A teen and a woman in her in 20s are being treated for potentially significant injuries after the bike they were riding and a Mazda SUV collided on a busy roadway at Rural View early Wednesday.
All emergency services were called to the scene at the Mackay Bucasia Rd and Avalon Dr about 6.30am after the two vehicle crash.
The 16-year-old boy riding the bike and his 22-year-old female pillion passenger of the motorcycle were transported to Mackay Base Hospital, the man suffering arm and wrist injuries and the woman a head injury.
A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said the injuries could be significant.
The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with minor injuries.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said one crew was sent to the scene and there were no entrapments.
Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
