Shoppers sitting down to enjoy a late lunch were shocked when a disagreement between two teenage girls escalated to a physical fight in the shopping centre’s food court.

An argument between two girls at Caneland Central escalated into a physical fight shocking nearby shoppers.
Police and paramedics were called to the shopping centre’s food court when the fight-turned-assault erupted shortly after 2pm on Monday.
It was initially believed the victim of the alleged assault was in her 20s but a police spokeswoman said the girl was 16 years of age with the other party about a similar age.
She said both girls were known to each other.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one of the girls was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident.
