A father charged with murdering his baby son has been called into court for breaching the supreme court bail allowing him to live in the Mackay community rather than remaining in jail on remand.
Ayden Jedd Bradshaw was granted bail in December 2022 on strict conditions including regular reporting to Northern Beaches police after spending about 2.5 years in custody following his arrest in mid 2020.
He is charged with the murder and grievous bodily harm of Beau Bradshaw, who died on June 4, 2020 after being found unresponsive on June 2.
Beau had spent the morning with his family at the beach before an ambulance was called to his East Mackay home.
Mr Bradshaw has since been charged with breaching his bail condition in that he did not report to police on September 29, 2023.
Magistrate Damien Dwyer queried if Mr Bradshaw’s matter had been committed to supreme court.
The court heard it had. Mr Bradshaw’s solicitor Robyn Cathcart they were currently awaiting a trial date but it would be listed “next year sometime”.
Mr Bradshaw pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions.
“You’ve been on bail now for 12 months, this is your first breach, so I fully accept that you’re doing the right thing and something’s happened on this day,” Mr Dwyer said.
“You must be very careful.”
He was fined $200 and a conviction was not recorded.
